Why add companies
If you hold properties in one or more companies, add each one. You manage every company with one login. Company ownership also decides which bank account receives rent for a property.
Add a company
Only the account owner can manage companies. On the web, open Company Management and choose Add New Company. Enter the Legal entity name and the address. You can also add a Display name, the EIN (9 digits), the Formation date and Notes of up to 500 characters.
Company bank accounts
Under Bank Information, link the company's bank accounts and mark one Receives rent. Rent for this company goes to the account marked Receives rent. On the company page, you can change it with Set as default payout bank.
Company or personal ownership
When you add a property on the web, choose Company-owned or Personal under Ownership. For a company-owned property, pick the Company. KeyRing suggests the company you used last, and you can add a new company from the same screen. Rent for a company-owned property goes to the company's default payout bank, unless the property has its own bank marked to receive rent.
Manage a company
Open a company to choose Edit Company, add files with Add Document, change the Company Image, unlink a bank account or choose Delete Company. Reports and many lists can be filtered by company.
